Hi. I'm Laila. I’m a board-certified Ayurvedic Practitioner, birth + postpartum doula, intuitive guide and teacher. I support families in birthing and nurturing themselves—and their children—through every season of life. My work is rooted in helping you return to the innate wisdom within, so you can cultivate healing, vitality, and deep peace.

The arc of the conception journey is a portal and one of the most sacred thresholds of life. It's an opportunity to expand our normal awareness and tap into ancestral connection and healing like never before.

Before I devoted my life to this work, I spent years in the worlds of international development, refugee support, and social enterprise—guided by a deep call to serve.

Since I can remember, I wanted to support and care for those in need. This desire took me to living and working in over 7 different countries.

For many years, I did refugee resettlement work in the US and across sub-Saharan Africa. When I noticed that avoidable maternal and child health disorders were some of the leading causes of death in the populations I worked with, I decided to transition to working in global health. That's where I thought I could make the biggest impact.

The work that I did in the international sector allowed me not only the opportunity to serve, but also to feed my passion for travel and exploration. Through work and leisure I've had the honor of visiting 40 countries on the planet.

My favorite type of travel is slow travel, where I'm immersed in a culture, country and people for weeks or months on end. I think that's why I loved living abroad so much because it gave me time to really understand how people lived across the globe. That's also why I love picking up different languages—I speak four (English, Dari/Farsi, French, Spanish). Being able to communicate across borders has helped me realize how similar we are as humans in our desires, wishes and dreams. This is especially true when it comes to parents. Every parent that I have come across, whether a refugee or a corporate boss, when asked why they made a certain life-altering choice, often responds with a version of "I wanted my kids to have a better future."

When I was little everyone in my family described me as a very calm baby. I loved to sleep & be pampered too (my aunties have some stories)! I can't say that much has changed :) It's interesting to see how much of your core nature shines through from such a young age. As an adult going through life challenges and then starting my Ayurveda practice, one consistent comment that I get from clients and friends alike is how calm and grounding my presence is. Yes, I have a consistent daily meditation practice that helps, but I do believe that part of my core essence is my groundedness. â€‹â€‹

Other things I loved as a kid were trees and the ocean! I loved climbing trees, being around them—a born tree hugger as my family would say :) I was a big nature lover and wanted to be two things growing up: a pediatrician/family practitioner and a marine biologist.

One might argue that my love for healing families, children and working with nature have met their perfect match in my path as an Ayurvedic practitioner and doula.

Rooted in my Afghan heritage and the sacred traditions of the SWANA region and Indian subcontinent, I offer healing practices that are ancestral, earth-based, and trauma-informed. I support families in the thresholds of life: conception, pregnancy, birth, postpartum, identity shifts, healing crises, and everything in between.

This path is deeply personal. I’ve moved through my own initiations. And each time, I'm reminded: healing isn’t about becoming someone new—it’s about remembering who you are at the core of your essence.

When families are nurtured and grown from this place of truth then I believe we will begin to see our entire world shift.

If you made it this far, thank you for reading this, I am so grateful you're here and I can't wait to connect with you <3
